Should be a good card tomorrow night! Anybody in West TN going to watch the fight? I would love to find some people to meet up with and watch the fight and other fights.

I'm taking:

Rampage over Hamill
Nelson over Mir
Brown over Struve
Stann over Santiego
Story over Alves
Boetsch over Grove

tossed up about Johnson & Torres

I actually think Nelson has a chance against Mir, and I'll take Hamill over Jackson just because Jackson seems more interested in acting than fighting now.

Not bad! You could have made some money with those picks.

What happened to the guy who beat down Rua, Jon Jones?

I don't think he was scheduled to fight till UFC 133 but he is out of it now.

Jon Jones has torn ligament

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones suffered a torn ligament in his right hand that has forced him to withdraw from a proposed fight with Rashad Evans.

Evans will now face Phil Davis on Aug. 6 at UFC 133 in Philadelphia.

I did not know there was such a pay difference in the big name fighters!

Quinton Rampage Jackson: $250,000 (no win bonus) def. Matt Hamill: $32,000
Frank Mir: $250,000 (includes $125,000 win bonus) def. Roy Nelson: $15,000

That is some major $ difference from a top 10 fighter vs a top 20 fighter!

Remember too that these are just the salaries. They do not include endorsement monies which can be equal or more than they make in the ring.

I understand that people make a lot of money from endorsements but I would have thought 2 people fighting in the Main Event of a UFC pay per view would have been close to being payed the same.

Quinton Rampage Jackson: $250,000 (no win bonus) def. Matt Hamill: $32,000
Frank Mir: $250,000 (includes $125,000 win bonus) def. Roy Nelson: $15,000

Matt Hamill got $218K less than Rampage got for the same fight.

Roy Nelson got $235K less than Mir.

You could say that if Mir or Rampage had lost there fights then they might not have a job in the UFC or at least were on the ropes to losing there UFC contract.

Before this fight a lot of people thought Matt Hamill was on his way to a title shot and Roy Nelson was in the top 10 in the heavy weight division. I just thought the UFC thought more of there 2 guys then to pay them so little.

I thought most UFC fighters made enough money from there fights to not work a full time job and train all the time. I guess I was wrong. I don't fallow the sport as close as a lot of people do I just like to watch them fight but I know some of the fighters get big pay checks but I thought the other people got payed more than 2 or 3% of what the top fighters make.

Lesnar earned 5.3 million in 2010. That was MMA earnings and PPV bonuses.
Fedor makes a bunch every time he fights.

Chuck Lidell and Randy Couture were both good earners. The rest just haven't reached the pinnacle yet.
