I knew that a game like this was coming, and I'm glad that my DAWGS passed the test. Rivalry game between two head coaches who are uber competitive best friends; a few bad plays and turnovers made this "only" a two touchdown victory, but it easily could have been 10 more points on the board for UGA. I hope that this game is built on, but Auburn next week scares me a bit, and I know that it will take UGAs "A" game to beat them on the plains.

In the end, an ugly win beats a pretty loss, but it's hard to call a two touchdown victory too ugly.

And, oh yeah, UGA clinched the SEC East. I'm happy about that, but it definitely doesn't have as much luster this season as in years prior.

Go DAWGS!!!

I agree that this was a big win for us. I came away from that game with 2 positives and 2 negatives.
Firstly The boys faced their second big pressure situation of the year, in coming out with the #1 ranking for the first time in 25 years plus the above mentioned points on SC, (Norte Dame being the first big pressure situation) and kept calm enough heads to pull ahead in the second half and for that I am very proud. Also the second big takeaway was with Jake Fromm. He proved his ability to read the defense and audible out into a pass play that results in positive yardage. He made accurate throws all night and didn't throw one interception. I believe this performance will not only give jake more confidence in his arm under pressure but also boost the confidence of the team and coaches. Jake is bringing a much needed pass game to the previously 1 dimensional team. As in all prior weeks to this one, I saw Georgia improve on an aspect of their game that will be crucial to earn a spot among the college elite.

Now the negative...PENALTIES AND TURNOVERS. These two seem to be the hurdles we consistently are jumping. I am noticing that the majority of both of these are occurring at the end of the play on the finish. We start well but have to keep each play clean until the whistle blows. If we want to go into Atlanta and beat a very tough and well executing Alabama team, then we will have to eliminate lost yardage due to fumbles and penalties.

As I write this I want to add a couple more positives to my DAWGS. After the win last night I watched interviews from Michel, Chubb, and Coach Smart. All three were focused on next weeks game against a tough Auburn team. I think Coach said it best when he said "humility is just a week away". That's a huge statement IMO from a team that just clinched the SEC east. It would be easy to feed into the hype around this team but they seem grounded and for that I also give kudos to my boys...go DAWGS!!!!
