Uh, our #1 bball team lost to Tech!

Same! When were you there? I played baseball my freshman year which was 91-92. They've definitely come a long way and having Bragga back as coach is huge. He's the one that took them to the super regionals several years back before he left and went to Rice. The kid that pitched the last 4+ innings was on fire. Think he finished with 9 strikeouts and the Vols couldn't touch him.

Graduated in '87.

I was married and commuted from Crossville, so all I did was attend class, most of the time.

I actually had forgotten that they were playing.

It's not a bad thing to lose a game like this, and just shows that a good pitcher can have a dominant performance and there's not much the hitters can do about it.

Couldn't watch it tonight but saw we just dropped game 1 to Bama.
Looked like Burns had 4 ER to his credit in 3 innings?
That makes it a losing streak, better get their $hit together.

Tuned in bottom of the 2nd, missed a lot of excitement it sounds like. Tony & Frank Anderson already tossed apparently

I didn't see them getting tossed either and from what I've read it doesn't say what started it.

I started watching about the 6th inning, so I didn't see the tossings, but did read this:

OK, guys, here's the scoop: When Dollander was hit by the liner, the Bama bench was clapping/laughing as Dollander was on the ground. That chapped Anderson's a$$ because the umps didn't do anything about it. He got tossed. Then Tony was mad that Anderson got tossed by the same POS umpire (Jeff Macias) who umped behind the plate last night...Tony's anger about last night with Macias plus Frank getting tossed caused Tony to lose his mind and bump him.

Maybe, this got our minds right going forward. Need today's game. Noon central, SEC+ network

John & Vince talked about what happened but they never really explained why Anderson came out so hot, or that the ump who tossed them was behind the plate Friday night. That helps put a few more pieces in place.

I hope Dollander is OK.

I get we piss a lot of people off because we're arrogant, but I don't think & surely hope our boys don't cheer another kid getting hurt.

Welp, heard that Dollander was just bruised and didn't break any bones in his arm which is great news! He will more than likely take a week or two to heal before they throw him back in the weekend rotation which leads me to believe that Blade will be our Saturday guy now or possibly Friday for the time being if he and Burns switch. Also, Seth Halverson is listed as active and will more than likely see him make is debut for a couple innings during the weekday game Tuesday to get him back in the swing. Our rotation is getting stronger and will be deadly come late in the season.

Good news on Dollander. Wonder what Vitello is going to sell during this suspension? Last time he set up a lemonade stand outside the stadium didn't he?
