What UL length rod do you all use for trout/panfish? I have always had a 5or5.5 foot rod for UL. But using trout magnets last year casting was not very good. So I ordered a 6.5 and 7 foot rod fast action last night. Hoping that will help with the magnet casting and light jigs/tubes.

I feel your pain with the casting issues - getting a good low-diameter line will boost distance somewhat.

I use a 6-foot rod a lot, and it seems to be the "happy medium" for me. If you use a long rod while doing small hops and stuff with jigs, you may find that it moves too dramatically underwater compared to the same wrist/hand motion with a shorter rod. Something to pay attention to when working out your techniques.
