I traded a rifle for a Mathews Switchback XT last year. It is set on about 64#. I had it chronographed at U Need It Archery in Sparta and it was shooting 262 fps with 100 grain tips.

I would like to get something up over 300 fps without breaking the bank. Any ideas on which company will give me the most bang for my buck on a new or slightly used bow (Mathews, Bowtech, PSE, etc)? I am not obsessed with speed but if I could upgrade from 262fps to 320fps or so for $100-$200 I might upgrade before the season this year.

I haven't priced any of the New Breed Bows. Are they $800 -$900 like the Mathews Z7 or the Bowtech Invasion? Waaaaayyyyyy out of my price range on both of these.

I couldn't find any pricing on their website. Am I missing something?

Do you have a 30" draw length or longer? If so, go for 320fps. I have a short draw length, so over 300 is a pipe dream for me.

I am pulling 29" on my draw length. I may be a bit optimistic on what I can get out of a 29" draw length vs the speed I want. I am only shooting 262 fps so almost anything will be an upgrade for me.

If you decide to upgrade PM me I'd be interested in buying your switchy. One of the best bows mathews ever made IMHO. I've been lookin' for one in 29" in pretty good shape. Thanks

I have never been a Bowtech or especially Diamond fan. Three weeks ago we got the new Diamond Outlaw in at Bass Pro. It shoots great. 310FPS on 70# 30" draw and a 353 grain arrow. shoots like a dream. I never thought Bowtech would put out a bow like this under the Diamond name and for only $499.99. Thursday, the new Diamond Fugitive came in. 30" draw 70# 353 grain arrow shot 318!!!. With a 400 grain arrow and a 30 inch draw we got 297 out of it!!! I never thought I would say it but in 2011 Diamond has the best bang for the buck with the Outlaw at$499.99 and the Fugitive at $599.99.
