I've seen a few posts where users complain about difficulty accessing the remote plug-in and SD card on the NT50B. I spent half the season with the same problems, getting down on my knees to plug in the remote without taking the camera off the tree. Then I stumbled on to the following.

Using the standard security box which I got when I purchased the camera from The Huntin Shack, I attach the box to the tree with the strap. Then I place the camera into the box and attach it to the tree and box with the python cable lock. With the box open, the camera will rotate on the cable so that I have easy access while standing to the remote port, SD card, and batteries. See the picture below.

Now if I can just get this camera to work.

EXACTLY!

Yes, very good idea regarding how you're servicing the NT50's. I had been totally removing mine from the tree. I may need to maintain less tension on the Python cable lock to do what you're doing.

But I was thinking you couldn't open the door on those security boxes without removing the Python cable?

That was the revelation -- that the box would open with the cable through it. I've got the cable pretty tight.

I like to use these versa mounts with all my cameras. I usually sit down under my cameras when I check them. Worked real well with the NT50 cameras too.

I still use the python with them. I just don't pull it tight. Held straight pretty good even with coons and squirrels :)

Iphone pic is the only one I have of the setup I used this year.
