My new string and cable will ship Monday. Thanks for the recommendations.
Next comes the hard part. I have never replaced a string before. I have done alot of minor adjustments. I have set up and tuned a few bows, but never replaced a string.
I have a bow press. What else do I need to know? What about twist? I hear alot of talk about twist but I am not sure of a good place to start. Maybe someone could pull out their Crayola box and color me a picture?

Thanks alot,

G5 meta peep, shurz-a-peep, tru peep. They're all good free floating peeps.

The strings are twisted to length and the ends are tied together to keep them at the correct length .
I just install the string and cable and check the factory specs on ATA , brace , and check for cam or idler wheel lean .
Install your string loop and shoot a few dozen arrow to settle the string in , then instal the peep sight .

pjridge, Thanks for the peep info.
Radar, What differences could I expect from a loop compared to a tru-nok? I have never used a string loop. Thanks for thr string info.

You folks have convinced me. I am going to run to Bass Pro tomorrow, after Church, and pick up a new peep and string loop set.
How do you assure that your nocking point doesnt move while tying the loop? Do you use a crimp style nock along with a loop? I guess I will just have to have these my hand to understand exacly how they work.

When I ty a string loop I tie it on loosely then set my nocking point, Then tighten it. There really isn't a wrong way of setting your nocking point as long as you get it set right.

Oh and G5 meta peep all the way.

I installed vapor trail strings last fall, with no complaints at all very well built and after about 500 or more shots no stretch.

Wow! I got the string yesterday. It was shipped by Priority mail.
It is now installed. It took me about 10-minutes. The longest part was filing down a burr that I found on the cam.
I guess next I will shoot it a dozen times or so, then I will start puting my new string accessories on.
I also ordered a new Greyling fletching jig and some 2" Duravanes.

The satisfaction of not needing a pro-shop is wonderful...

vapor trails is a good company, excellent customer support. i just started using their arrow rest and bought one from gander mtn. some of the parts were missing. so after going around in circles with gander, i called vapors cust service. they helped me to determine which parts were missing and sent them to me for free!!
