Just wondering if any of you guys have shot or are shooting a vapor trail string.Pros and cons.I am in need of a new string and was told about this one.

I personally don't like them because of their quality control and customer service, which was disappointing because I chose them based on those two areas after hearing everyone rave about them. Yes, the string itself is great and did not stretch, but I had major peep rotation issues (it was in and out of a press 26 times before it finally settled and would rotate correctly, which took two months) and I also had major serving seperations in multiple different locations after only 6 months of use. Turns out they served the string in the opposite direction of the twist, which is why I had the rotation problems and all of the serving seperations. I called the company (specifically Jarrod-the owner) and they wanted me to send the string back so they could inspect it and see what they could doclose-up pictures via email wouldn't do, plus I had already called them previously about the rotation problems. It was 1 month before the season opener and I didn't have time to wait for a two week turn around that close to the opener with everything that I had already gone through getting it working correctly.

I know it is not Vapor Trail, but I have started using Energy Wave strings and have been very impressed! The string and peep were both settled within 20 shots and with no creep. They are made locally here in Middle Tennessee, they are half the cost of Vapor Trail and other strings, and they have a warranty that is as good, if not better, than the major strings makers. Several people I know have started using them, including REN on here. http://energywavebowstrings.com/

I have never had an issue with Vapor Trail strings or their customer service . Both are top notch . One thing I always do before putting a peep on is shoot a few dozen arrows without the peep to settle the string in the cams . Any time you make adjustments to correct peep rotation , you have to shoot enough arrows to settle the string in the cams . With 452x , they settle in quick and are quite stable .

Im comparison to other after market strings I have shot they take a few shots longer to break in. I'd say about 50 shots and you should be good to tighten everything down.

My favorite so far is Americas Best. never used Winners Choice though

I have been using a set from them for the last three years. The only problem was the center serving was in the wrong place when I received the string.I just installed a set from Energy Wave that are half the price but just as nice. Shot the bow about twenty times before I installed my peep and it has not moved.
