Varget Powder

Need to find a good powder to reload my 308. Has anyone had good results with Varget? I will be reloading 150 to 180 grain bullets out of a 18" barrel. Thanks.
 
Thats what I use for a variety of calibers including .308. 45 grains of Varget behind a 175gr SMK or 180gr Accubond or Ballistic Tip will do the trick.

I shoot 165's out of my 308 A-bolt Micro using 46 grains of Varget. This is a compressed max load and you should work up accordingly to your rifle. It's my favorite powder for the 308 and 300 WSM.
 
Tim's more accomplished than most, so I'd bank on what he recommended.

I like Varget and RL-15 in the 7-08 and for a different application-

a .40 caliber smokeless muzzleloader.

Shooting to almost the same speed as the 308 and 7.08. With tweaking, I'll exceed-
