Even though I'd rather ANYONE win it than the Updykes I thought someone might get a kick out of this.

Careful now Spur; using Bama to help make fun of the Yankee-boys? That's a slippery slope (pun intended). If you don't watch yourself, the next thing you know, you'll be saying the words (you know 'em, "R*** T***"). Drop me a line if you start feeling the urge to wear some Crimson Tide swag -- I can get you the good stuff cheap. :poke:

That's funny. Almost as funny as seeing all the reports of stranded cars and wrecks in 3 inches of snow on the tv news today. I stayed home. No way I want to be out there with southerners trying to drive in the snow.

Checked on my Mom last night in NE Ohio. Of course the conversation turned to the weather and the old German remarked how they were "only getting" 6 inches last night and it's no big deal.

Ohio State does its part. Not our fault the rest of the B1G and Notre Dame can't.

Come on man, "the old German"? Do you call her that to her face :D ?

More proof the SEC is soft and runs from the cold. Too many powder puff non-conference opponents and warm weather games...

I bet Boise State would beat most SEC teams on the blue field in November. :tu:

I'd say it's more proof that Southerners are smart and don't run TO the cold.

It's Yankee-boys who moved south that have run FROM the cold. :smash:

Everyone plays the cupcakes, but it's the SEC teams playing those late November cupcakes before the big rivalry game that burns me. It's also a fact that UF has never played a non-conference game outside the state of Florida and that Alabama's idea of a non-conference game against a good team is never a home and home series. LSU and UT deserve respect for traveling north and west. Ohio State travels to Norman next September. Alabama would never do that. Too afraid.

As for running from the cold, this Yankee boy (actually a "Westerner") didn't run far enough south.

Alabama played a home-home with Penn St. in '10-'11.

Not any more. 12. 13, 14, 15, 16 and counting.

You're right. Bama has been invited to play in one of the kickoff games each of those years. They'd be stupid not to go; those games pay out like a bowl (in the $3-$5 million range) and that doesn't have to be shared with the conference like bowl money does. That's significantly more profit than they'd make splitting a home-and-home series with the same team.

UF did play non-conference outside the State of Florida in 1991 ,OHVATN, regular season game. They played Syracuse. :tu:

Sorry ,I forgot to mention,Florida was no match for "The Loud House" of the Carrier Dome. They couldn't stop Syracuse from the opening kickoff.

A 95-yard return for a touchdown off of a reverse only opened the floodgates as Florida got smoked by the potent Syracuse option offense led by QB Marvin Graves. Syracuse blew the doors off of the Carrier Dome that day in one of the more obscure Florida losses in the Spurrier era, and the only regular season loss of the 1991 season for Florida.
Now you know the rest of the story. :tu:
