Vest

I use a Redhead Striker. I really like it. My only real complaint is where it holds the strikers. They are just in elastic loops with a flap over the top and nothing on the bottom. They probably wouldn't fall out but I don't trust it.

Mine is the same one I believe.... I took a cheap triple call lanyard and looped it around the strap on the left side.... most if not all my strikers have some type of spun-down area, so I just put one of the call loops over the striker... if there isn't enough spring tension, just stretch the spring out a little bit. The flap will still fold over the strikers and if they do slip out of the elastic straps, the lanyard will hang onto them.

Mine is a 30 dollar job from walmart the they only ran for one year, but its a vest style instead of a strap style. I love it, lots of pockets and has lasted and held great through 4 years of hard hunting.

I have literally owned or tried them all. Primos, Cabelas, Bass Pro, BuckLick Creek, Little Big Horn, the Wadell thing out now, Mossy Oak million dollar limited edition, Mossy Oak regular.

I have finally found the perfect vest, and the best vest I have ever worn without question. The Cabelas Tactical Tat'r II, dude is freaking fantastic. Great seat, great pockets (except the box call pocket), and extremely comfortable. Bar none the best and it's not even close.

I have a Russell something. Not expensive. It was just hard for me to find one that would fit me. Lot of M-XL out there but few smalls.

Cargo Pockets, maybe a shirt pocket, and this year I might be carrying in a seat cushion and tripod for the camera like I did on every deer hunting trip.

Never used one, and don't need one.

Have hunted for 25 yrs without one, and see no need to start now.

But, you do whatever you want to do. It's your hunt :D !

(I use a belt w/ pouches :) )

I've also tried several and found the Ol Tom Essentials vest to be my favorite. The vest is incredibly light and holds everything I need.

My previous vest was the Tactical Tat'r II, but I found it to be too heavy and hot.

i have a field and stream, tons of pockets great seat light weight when i dont have it over loaded with calls only complaint is it gets a little hot at times

It is a little warm, but when it gets into the upper 80's everything is hot.

I tried to Ol Tom, and liked it okay. I hated the pocket design because it was really tough to get calls in and out quickly, and just didn't like the lay out. Loved the seat, and magnets. It is a decent vest, but I do like the Tac Tatr a little better.

+1. I can't see myself buying one of those $100 vests.

you say that until you get to sit in one that changes your whole hunting approach.

Not saying you will or wont but i was the exact same way till i found a vest that was so comfortable to sit long periods in and had the perfect layout of pockets i wanted. Went from not being able to sit more then 30mins to an hour to being able to sit as long as i needed and even catching some sleep if it was too long hahahah

IMO vests are alot like climbing stands. The $70 one will do the job no doubt but summits are popular for a reason and the comfort factor is such a big difference.

Having said that if you found a $30 one or don't like to use one more power to you.
