In mens basketball rankings.

2ed time in program history last time came in 08 after taking down #1 Memphis .... .only lasted one week then the Vols lost there next game to #14 Vandy....

Well guess who the Vols play in two days.....Vandy on the road. We are gonna see the best game Vandy has played all year.

Lets hope Vandy doesn't knock us off like they did last time we were #1. Vols played as bad of a game Sat as they have all year but pulled out the W. They are a special team this year no doubt. I think they deserve the #1 spot.

I'd rather they be unranked and overlooked till March. TN teams seem to have better success as underdogs.

Vandy deserves to win. 28% 3pt for the season, shooting 60% tonight.
I'm kinda tired of the Vols being #1 anyway.

Good game.

Didnt look like a #1 team, but they yet again find a way to win a close game.

They will drop a SEC game sooner or later just glad they didn't drop it against Vandy after becoming #1 again like in 08

Taking my son tonight to hopefully watch them beat the crap out of Vandy but we'll see. What I want to know is when basketball tickets got so expensive. Dang!!!
You went to a heck of a game.

Yes he did.

I had DVR'd the game to watch after church service, but couldn't help checking on the score when we got in the car. It wasa 1 pt game with 10 mins left.

I couldn't believe it. When I got home I zipped through the first half and started watching at about the 15:00 min mark.

Vandy was on fire, and we could not stop them.

Grant won this one by himself. One of the best performances ever by a Vol.

Vandy mistakes at the end were huge, as was the hook call (which is a stupid rule btw), but we'll take it.

Mud, if you're still around, I know that one hurts because you guys should have pulled the shocker.

Yeah the hook call has came into play atleast twice this year for the Vols.

They got Williams for it I think against bama in a big moment, and it was also reviewed and upgraded to a F1 foul? And again last night this time against Vandy in a big moment also reviewed and upgraded to a F1 foul.

Smart play by Williams since he got one called against him earlyer this season he sold it well and knew it would be reviewed to get the F1.

Tennessee's slow defense was what is alarming to me. They will lose 1 or more SEC games and if they play that slow defending the basket, won't last too long in the tournament. Imagine what Duke would do to them if they played like they did last night...

Agree but good teams find a way to win.... Should they have lost last night? Probably, but like I said. I hate TN but this is a damn good bball team.

I looked at my buddy with 1:22 to go and Vandy up by 6 and said its over. I thought we were toast. Vandy was hot from 3 and our defense was less than stellar. An ugly win but I'll take it over a pretty loss all day long.

So the Vols would be better off unranked going into March Madness? Get in as a 7 0r 8 seed? So they are more successful with 6 or 7 loses?
See how far that gets them.
Successful now and ill take number 1 any day anytime.

Remaining schedule is pretty tough.

Could easily lose 3-4, especially if Schofield doesn't snap out of his slump. Of course, Turner is getting back into game shape so he's another weapon.

22pt win tonight they did what they needed to.

Schofield looked like he was coming back to his old self in the 2ed half. Hopefully Bowden is ok didn't play hurt his knee In the shoot around

On to A&M Saturday.

It was apparent when they came out in the 2nd half that they were bent on getting Admiral going which he finally did. Hope it sticks.

It sounds like Bowden's deal may not be too serious. Hope so.
