Tennessee baseball coach Dave Serrano has resigned as head baseball coach in Knoxville.

Thought he made some decent strides with them this year. Beat UF 2 out of 3 in Florida. Kinda out of left field IMO.

I heard on a sports talk radio show a couple weeks ago this was coming. 7-18 in conference this year and 9-21 last year. Never had a winning SEC record.

Didn't really know his record was that bad but a few of my Vol friends seemed to still think he was the guy.

He has not lived up to expectations since coming in from the West Coast.

He "resigned" to save face. His contract is about to be up, and he was not going to be rehired.

Probly exactly right.
Kinda sucks .I liked him. Thought he could have built a good team.
Just didn't work out for him in Knoxville.

CSF and UC Irvine were his last two teams and they went to the CWS. Wonder why he couldn't in Knoxville?

I heard something the other day that they could have hired Gary Gilmore when they hired Serrano. Who knew he would win a national championship and Serrano would leave with a losing record. Goes to show you never know:
