My wife's cousin sent me this picture of a buck on his farm. Don't believe I've ever seen warts that big before. Wonder what caused it

Yeah, that's what she said. 🤮
Well then she was right. Here's more info about the virus that causes the condition.

Now this article is about to send me down a rabbit hole and I can't stop it. Just enough information to get you curious, but not enough to educate you on it. So anyone got any better information Links, please post them.

So what I learned so far:
1: meat is safe to eat.
2: they are 3 different types.
3: some will fall off after the blood in them dry up.
So my question are:
1: how do they get them.
2: can it spread from one to another.
3: why was this post not have a warning sign on it saying. Rabbit hole awareness 😂😆

Subcutaneous fibromas (warts) on deer are caused by the same viruses that cause human warts. This means, some will just go away on their own. Some my stay for life. They do not harm the deer unless they get in the way of eating, seeing, walking, etc.
