Working on my 3rd bird. I have been busted by a double beard gob twice! Only eyeballed him once but know his general hang out area. He has nailed me twice on my walkout from another area, both times were mid afternoon. OK lets try it this way .. Get there about 1 oclock and set up. Im going to ambush this sucker! Have never heard him gobble but he is a mad drummer. Set up on a small knoll over looking a small plot from last season, backed up against a log and comfortable set in for the long haul. About 3:30, dead calm looking for any movement, there he is! :D Noticed his head and tail in some thick briers heading to an open window in them. Up on the gun, safety off, in the scope .. Just one more step. All of a sudden, just starting to apply a bit of pressure on the trigger, two little BA#%$DS on a junk 4 wheeler came flying over a ridge about 50 yards away. Of course he was gone, I couldnt get up fast enough to get in front of them.  I have tossed this guy off my property more then once. Thinking about sending a 12-ga blast into the air to scare the He!! out of them, thought but didnt. The local warden knows of him and his group, not a good reputation and being watched. The sheriff has been watching these guys, I have provided images. Naturally not much they can do without catching them in the act of trespassing. Needless to say upset with trespassers would be a bit of an understatement.

Hang in there man.... I hate it happened.... some people just have no respect for others property.

I'd go back and try him again.....

Intend to Grizz,
Want to do a "Upgrade" for the team :D no question he is a bit bigger then my entered bird. The double beard is what I'm after, never scored one. May just lay out a spike strip when I'm there.

Man that sucks.

There are ways to take out his transportation, and mods if this is off limits my apologies and feel free to delete if necessary,

1. Take a sheet of plywood, drive roofing tails all through it, go to one of their trails, cover the wood with spikes with leaves and a little dirt, go down the trail the way they come 30 yards and on either side of the trail hang a sign that says no atvs. This should cover you legally, and when they hit that board they'll walk home. If I'm the one that finds the four wheeler before they get it fixed it's either coming with me to be delivered to the police dept or burned into a charcoal briquet.

2. Find out where they live, dump 1 lb of sugar into the gas tank.

I'm bad news in the equipment people like this use, and have no patience for them

Just remember, if you booby-trap in any way and they are injured (whether trespassing or not) you will be responsible for their injuries.

So in this instance, if they get off their now flat four-wheeler to walk out and in doing so walk back across your "spike strip board" and step on nails/tacks.... be prepared to pay.

There are other legal ways to handle this.... and other ways to handle this if the law can't/won't get it stopped... and they don't include bodily injury.

That sucks, I hate to hear that. I too would be steaming, and that is putting it nicely. Best of luck in your quest to tag that bird and rid your property of those hooligans.

No doubt there is risk/reward. Could always just ambush them, and dispose of the bodies ;)

ambush them with nail board and sneak out and remove board after they drive past.

I do know where part of this group lives and so do the Wardens and Sheriff. They have been watching them for other issues, if you get my drift (aka thieves). Wouldn't booby trap, but it wouldn't take much for those BALD 4 wheeler tires to have a flat in the woods. My goodness other members I just found a junk 4 wheeler over here by XYZ stand with flat tires! So I cabled it to a tree so no one would steal it! ;) ;) Oh by the way I have set up a couple of trail cams on video.

I think that is exactly what I would have done. Point it in a safe direction and let it fly. I'm pretty sure that would get their attention.
