Working on my 3rd bird. I have been busted by a double beard gob twice! Only eyeballed him once but know his general hang out area. He has nailed me twice on my walkout from another area, both times were mid afternoon. OK lets try it this way .. Get there about 1 oclock and set up. Im going to ambush this sucker! Have never heard him gobble but he is a mad drummer. Set up on a small knoll over looking a small plot from last season, backed up against a log and comfortable set in for the long haul. About 3:30, dead calm looking for any movement, there he is! Noticed his head and tail in some thick briers heading to an open window in them. Up on the gun, safety off, in the scope .. Just one more step. All of a sudden, just starting to apply a bit of pressure on the trigger, two little BA#%$DS on a junk 4 wheeler came flying over a ridge about 50 yards away. Of course he was gone, I couldnt get up fast enough to get in front of them. I have tossed this guy off my property more then once. Thinking about sending a 12-ga blast into the air to scare the He!! out of them, thought but didnt. The local warden knows of him and his group, not a good reputation and being watched. The sheriff has been watching these guys, I have provided images. Naturally not much they can do without catching them in the act of trespassing. Needless to say upset with trespassers would be a bit of an understatement.
