Steve and I went Friday for the first time ever at night on Watts Bar. Parking lot only had one other boat when we put in around 7pm at Ladds. Ran up the river looking for grass where we fished a few times late last fall but found very little. Caught a few on a buzzbait and a few on a bladed jig. The 2 pictured came at the same time in the mouth of a little cut off the river. His was 3lbs 14oz and mine was 5lbs 7oz. I had to boat flip her and was lucky she didn't break off since she had it swallowed. The shad were thick all over the river and there was a mayfly hatch. We ran back down lake to around Kingston after dark and caught some on a jig and spinnerbait. We ended up with between 18 and 19 pounds best 5. Probably 15 fish and lost a couple good ones that may have helped. Lots of trash and logs floating from Ladds upriver towards Melton Lake.
