ASSUMING the weather forecast holds and we continue to have upper 50's to low 70's over the next few weeks, does anyone get that uneasy feeling that everything is going to green up and the acorns will start to bud and then we'll get frost the first week in April and it will kill them all and the opener of Turkey season will require long johns again....

Last year I felt like I was deer hunting off the ground. I had my heavy gloves and face mask on.

I gave up worrying about stuff I can't control after countless droughts, floods, etc

But I think this will be standard spring, it feels like winter is done now and will be mild throughout. I've got no science on my side only a gut opinion

Last year I hunted the juvi weekend on a wma that opened early and it was like late season deer hunting cold, I bout froze my feet off, and there were hunters everywhere...but I still heard birds gobble on the roost, and I was even calling one in before it was cut off by two guys trying to sneak in on it. I hope the weather is a little warmer this year.

I have the same feeling as well. Weather doesn't seem too out of whack so far.

One of the best mornings for gobbling that I ever hunted it was 17 degrees. This was in the middle of April. I don't think the weather bothers them near as much as it does us.
