Hit up Cherokee friday night and the north wind got the best of me. Scratched out 2 decent 5lb or so hybrids and a 2lb largemouth. Had around 10 total blow ups not being able to fish hardly any of my usual water. Didn't help the lake was up 12 or so feet in 2 weeks time. Sunday evening was a better day, killed a hog that morning and slipped down to chick that evening from 2:30 til 5:30. The drum were tough to weed through as usual probably caught 30 of those several in the 15 lb range on 10 lb line. Only took a picture of one which was far from the biggest but otherwise had a good average trip down here. All on artifical.

I don't think the wife and I could tackle 275 lbs of pork in one sitting, but we will be cooking a good bit of it Sunday for mothers day.
 
Drum is very firm fleshed. The most comparable would be striper I suppose texture wise. Flavor wise it is slightly sweet kindve like bluegill but a lot firmer. They are closely related to redfish if you have eaten it. Just HAVE to remove all red meat from fillets just like stripe.
 
yep taste like redfish but dont cost 25 bucks for a couple of filets, lol. i like it blackened. dip filets in clarified butter, coat with old bay blackening seasoning, and throw it on a flat cast iron skillet at 450 deg. cook outside.

prolly the camera pic but i thought that pig looked like a 50 lb suckling. yeah a couple hundred pound would be a bit much for 2 lol.
