Didn't want to hijack REN's post about the arrow company.

Anybody try/use the new "weight forward" designed arrows from ANY company?

How do they fly in comparison to regular arrows?
Do they make that much difference in penetration?
Do they require a lot of extra tuning?
How is the accuracy?

The best answer I can give you would be...Look up FOC or Front of Center. This should answer all your questions. BTW you don't have to buy a weight forward arrow to achieve better FOC. You can try it with the arrows you have. Just add a heavier field point or reduce weight at the back end of your arrow (lighter fletching or nock). But remember adding weight to either end of an arrow will affect the way the spine of the arrow reacts at the shot and in flight. So if your on the bubble you might want to go with a higher spined arrow if you're adding ton of weight(this is where you'll see better penetration). If you don't want to go to 125grn there are other options out there such as glue in tips that you can add weights to. As far as broadheads go I think you more limited, but I don't think you need to buy arrows that are specifically weighted. IMO its a marketing ploy... there's my couple of pennies.

as i said in the other one, i have 6 on the way to test out so you are welcome to shoot a few to see for yourself or weight till i do and i will give you my opinion.

Still want some first hand accounts to see if there are any issues/adjustments that need to be made when using them.

May have to wait for you to test them out REN.

I do and love it!! I do alot of shooting at 60, 70,80 yards. The carbon express maxima hunters 250 are the best arrows I've ever shot! They plane out faster and are more accurate than the gold tips xt hunter arrows I used to shoot. The big difference that I quickly noticed is that these arrows are more consistent and my groups at long ranges are much better

Cool.

So did you have to do a bunch of tuning to get them to fly well?

Would you say the biggest advantage is in longer range shooting?

Thanks!

fishboy,
I just came from a local pro shop and I asked him about these. He said they're the real deal, he switched. He also told me that Carbon Express sent un-marked arrows that only had serial #s on them to a bunch of the pro shooters and had them tested. The overwhelming response was that the arrows are more acurate and had more energy at farther distances.

Yes, the big advantage to me is shooting 40 yards and beyond (which i do alot of)! I can really tell a difference in my small group sizes. No, they tune just like all the other arrows that I have used in the past.
