Was a difficult/Fun season and I hate to see it go.
I finally got drawn for the Wolf River WMA hunt. Hunted hard Friday and Saturday but birds didn't cooperate. Finally had some birds working on Sunday and was able to put the sneak on them and MISSED. A little heart breaking because I have never pulled the trigger on a Turkeys head and have it laugh and run off.
I ended up killing a nice bird the day before Easter, and another nice bird on my Birthday. Doubled up twice this season. 2nd time was this past Saturday, I shot a Jake. 1st time I've filled 3 tags in a season.
Was a good season. Like I said doubled twice, killed 2 nice longbeards and a jake. Helped some friends get a shot at some birds, and played a part in 8 kills this year.
I learned a lot, and spent way to much money. I'm pretty much a weekend hunter with work and all and only missed 2 weekends (1 for Talladega, and 1 to go Crappie fishing)
I'm already ready for next year.
