Just ordered an AAE Fletch III and some 2.1" AAE Hunter vanes(kind of like Blazers) so I can do my own fletching at home not have to run into town all the time. The jig is only a 1 deg off set(some web sites say it's a 2 deg) but it should be ok with these short, high profile vanes. I should have kept the fletching jig that I had with my recurve, oh well, 20/20 hindsight and all, LOL.

It's not my first Rodeo where fletching is concerned. Back in my Traditional days I made all my own arrows. Bought bare cedar shafts, used the pencil sharpener on em' to taper em' for points and nocks then fletched em' with 5" feathers.
I've always liked to do stuff myself. That way I don't have to wait for someone else to do it and I know it's done right. You can also normally save a few bucks by doing it yourself too.
Anyway, can't wait to get the stuff, I've got two shafts that need to be fletched and I'll probably end up stripping the other 7 and redoing them too.

Oh I see! well enjoy. I love fletching arrows it's bowhunter theropy.
Thanks. I wasn't trying to be a smart azz, just letting ya' know that I'd done it before. Don't know why I let my jig go with my recurve bow. My buddy that bought the bow doesn't make his own arrows so he'd have no use for it.
Anyway, I know I can come across as kind of a jerk on forums sometimes, not sure why that is, LOL. I'm really a pretty decent guy once you get to know me. Anyway, can't wait for it to get here and get those little vanes on my arrows.

Got 5 arrows fletched up with the new AAE Max Hunter vanes. Tite Fletch Platinum worked like a charm as usual. Vanes are about half the length but taller and stiffer. They're suppose to work pretty well from all that I've read and being that they're lighter weight this will give me an FOC of 11% which is nice. Anyway, soon as all this rain passes on thru I'll get out and fling a few to see how they do. Talk to ya'll later.

Finally got out and shot a bit today. The 2.1" Max Hunter vanes work as well as the 4" Duravanes did, maybe a bit better. I like em', I think I made a decent choice. Cheaper then a Blazer but I think just as good. Two thumbs up for AAE Max Hunter vanes and for the AAE Fletch III fletching jig. Both work great.
