Started doing it last year and I meant that send it back to Benelli and forgot. Cleaned it tonight and seems even worse. I have no idea what's causing it but my best guess is a bad recoil spring but I don't have another one to see. If I send it back I'm sure I won't have it back before season which blows. Would even see if a normal gunsmith around here would look but the only one I know around Lebanon sucks

I've still got issues with an 11-87 and it is sucking as well. I've had it at one smith but no fix so far.

I'd give Greg at Outdoor Junction in cookeville a call. Very knowledgeable on Benelli shotguns. Worked on my super black eagle

Take it apart, take the bolt out, use a screwdriver to push the retainer back and then squirt the oil that came with it into the spring housing. Work the retainer back and forth see if it helps. If not take the stock off, remove the stock retaining nut screw. This should allow you to take the recoil spring out and see if it somehow got kinked or if some trash may be in the tube. If the spring is kinked call Benelli they'll prolly send you a new one. If not, check midway USA. Hope this helps.

Yeah gonna fool with the spring tonight. I have a different spring but it's for heavy loads only. If it fixes it for now I'll just use it and send it back after season

Hahaha to be fair I'm sure it's something I did along the way. I like to mess with stuff

Any modifications to the gun (forcing cone, trigger, etc)? Reason I ask is I've heard and read that Benelli can be fickle about making repairs once a gun has been modified from how it left the factory. Not sure if that is true, or if their position has changed, but it crossed my mind when I saw your post. Best of luck getting it straightened out.

This. It's just the recoil spring. Either oil or replace.

Well fixed it actually. Just broke it all down and found some trash in the tube. Purring like a kitten now. Didn't want to take it all down cause now I have to sight my speed bead back in but figure a gunsmith or Benelli was gonna do the same anyways
