Been in town all day. Got an email that it had been delivered. I didn't think I'd ever make it home to try it out. Still can't believe I walked away from it in Nashville. I absolutely love it. I can say that I may like the sound of it better than any pot I have. It's not like any slate that I've ran previously. I ordered a few more strikers with it. I wanted a Holly but he didn't have any. He sent a Bloodwood one piece instead. I know have 2. If anyone has an extra Halloran Holly or Ebony I would love to trade for one. If anyone is interested.

What is so unique about the sound?

I would say it's more like a mixture of slate and Crystal combined and runs so smoothly. It sounds nothing like my walnut slate of his leans much more towards the Mistress. If that makes sense

According to his site he has Holly. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it looks like, He sent me two with my call, but It doesn't say what it is.
Yep that's why I requested one. Oh well I'll get one at some point.

I've got in one piece strikers from
him- Wenge, Ipe, Persimmon, Hickory, 2 Bloodwood, Purple Heart, & Yellow Heart.

Two piece- Hickory, Jatoba, Purple Heart, Diamond Wood, & the all weather

I have one of his holly strikers. It's almost white in color.

Fred Cox makes some good strikers. I have his tulipwood, dymondwood and yellowheart. However, I still prefer Halloran's one piece strikers over Cox's.

i like Cox strikers, personally no one makes a better one then Fowler but some of those are not cheap. Also Larry Gesser makes an awesome striker. Davids are up there on my list as well but they generally are a tad thicker and heavier then i use. His cheap 2 piece ebony is still one of my fav strikers to use on any surface though.
