Yea it's crazy.
What's even crazier is fishing with your bilge pump running non stop to pump the water out that is coming in over the front of the boat. I've done that more times than I can remember. One morning I pulled up at Wyatts Crossing and the waves were insane. There were two guys there with Missouri tags and a small 16 foot shallow fishing boat. I told them they could ride across to Buzzards Roost with me and I was sure we would all limit out before noon.
We took off and bounced off trees for 30 minutes. Finally got across the lake to my spot, tied off to a tree with a rope and I told them to start fishing. Bilge pump constantly running and we had 90 tush hogs in the boat in less than two hours.
On the trip back boat went down a roller and hung up on a stump, turned us up on our side and did a complete 360. Almost swamped us in the middle of the lake. LoL We made it back to the ramp and those guys said it was the wildest fishing trip they'd ever been on.
I'm still friends with them today and that was 30 years ago.
So many memories on that lake. My Dad passed away in 2012 and I've never been back to Sardis one time since then. Just too painful for me...
