Been to 3 diff public land places in the past 3 days. Not one gobble. To say they are tight lipped in the West half would be an understatement. Anyone else not hearing anything or has the bad luck troll bit me. Got 3 days left to hunt due to having surgery next wk and like one bird being done.. Looks like I may be hanging up one short....

Guess I must have lucked up this morning on my spot. Heard 4 this morning in Fayette county. One bird kept it going from 6:15 until 8:30. I was on the wrong side of the ditch from him and think there was another hunter on that bird anyway. Got close on 2 different birds but not close enough. Most fun day of the season so far

I hunted til almost 12 and never heard a gobble. I even drove to different parts of the farm to listen and never heard a bird today.

Yesterday I went with a retired Marine to his place to try and call one in for him. It didn't work out as he was ready to go by 7am due to back pain but the gobbling was insane! I told him if I closed my eyes I would think I was back in the early 2000's he had so many gobblers gobbling in so many directions. To top it off he had some quail whistling.
