What are they doing? I was in Philadelphia, MS last weekend and they seem to be done. Every hen we saw was alone and nesting. Longbeards already grouped back up in bachelor groups. I was planning on hunting this weekend but I'm dying to go fishing. Is it still "on" in West TN?

I haven't been in the last few days, but last time I hunted I was on a gobbler with 5 hens and he gobbled and strutted as good as you could ask for. I'm seeing more solo hens nesting, but I don't think it's "done."

We are on the tail end in my parts. Most hens seem to be nesting and I had very little success this week getting birds to respond much to a call. I'll be back after them in the morning though as you never know when one's mood might change.

I think it will be good till the end of the season on the good weather days. I'm hearing morning gobbling but not much during the day. Of course I'm usually gone by then.

going to try to put gasman on one in the morning. Heck I might even go and try to roost one for him in a little while

I have never had much luck getting birds to gobble in the evening after fly up. But these birds on my place love to gobble at night. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen.

heard one behind the house yesterday evening around roost time. It's awful windy right now though

yea I doubt the turkeys are "done" yet. You may have gone to MS on a bad weekend. Some days the turkeys are gay and some days they just want to die. Good luck

Not West Tn but in West Ky. Pretty much the same as my property is 2 miles from the Tn line. Hunted from 130 to 8 this evening and didn't hear or see a bird. Hopefully things change in the morning.

I was on a bird last Saturday that was gobbling his head off on the roost in south MS. Way further south than Philadelphia. Didnt have a tag left, so I just enjoyed listening to him. He wanted to die...

Birds are fickle, just like always. Sometimes they are on fire, the next day they are silent, just have to keep after them and catch them on their fired up days (assuming they are there)

I heard a bird gobble once way across the property line. Haven't struck a bird but seeing plenty tracks and a few dusting bowls. Glorious day to be out either way.

I hunted Fayette this morning and had several gobbling on the roost. Hit the ground and shut up. All I could call to me was a lone hen. Never saw anything else most of the day. Then driving in Gibson county and at 3 way saw birds strutting in the fields on both sides of the road.
