I passed this deer last year a couple of times thinking he was a 3 year old. I know where he lives, his travel routes and food sources. If he stays in the same area this year as he did last year I should have a pretty good chance at getting a shot at him.

He still has some growing to do so I'm anxious to see what he looks like when he finishes out.

I find it very enjoyable to watch them progress from year to year.

Many years ago, I had an "epiphany" :)
It was the sudden realization that the bigger bucks I gave a pass,
the bigger the bucks I killed (generally speaking).

Time & again, I would hesitate, think, hesitate, then give a pass to a buck I really wanted to shoot at that moment. But then a few minutes later, a larger one, never seen before, would come along trailing the one passed a few minutes earlier. Or, the one I passed presented an opportunity next year as a much larger and older buck than the year before.

X2 on that. You hit the nail on the head LBLman. Good luck with that buck.

He is a nice one. He would be hard to pass up with a bow.

I'm not passing a mature buck with any weapon.
