Today was one of the best hunts i have ever had not to kill one. lol. first thing me and my dad set up in an old logging road. about 6:20 i tell dad i hear one drumming behind me, it circles around and come in to the left well dad did not have his gun up and for some crazy reason, when he saw the decoys he bolted. i could have killed the turkey easily but my barrel would have came to close to him. well we hear one gobble and i tell him i think he's in a field a few hundred yards away. we get out there and what do we see a big full fan. we belly crawl through the wet grass and set up in a blow n down pine. he must have saw us or something. about that time a turkey is blowing the woods up and comes out strutting about 100 yards, well 3 more toms come in to our right. no turkey ever got close enough for a shot but you talk about a awesome hunt. funny watching a 60 year old man crawling through a field. always spend as much time as you can with your family while you can

Great post man! I've pondered low crawling up to them before. It would be my luck I'd get close enough and it would bolt when I raised my shotgun.
