A few years ago we had a spike that had one in the almost exact same spot that was almost the size of a men's basketball. It was inevitable that you were going to see him on almost every hunt no matter where you were at on the farm. It swayed back and forth almost a foot with every step he took.

They generally get those from running into something sharp, then getting an infection which gets "walled off" into a cyst. No harm to the meat.

Yep. Cattle get em to. I have had to lance quite a few. Looks like cottage cheese when it runs out
