Exactly!

When I was in college, I got real gadgety. I had the NWTF Official Mossy Oak Turkey Vest. I tromped around the woods with my vest and 50 lbs of calls, decoys, and gear.

Now, I carry three mouth calls, three locator calls (owl, crow, coyote), mask and gloves, and shells in a fanny pack. The only other thing I carry is a nice seat cushion.

I think we would be better off picking out one type of call and become an expert at using it instead of a vest full of calls that we only have a basic knowledge of.

two mouth calls and one box. my son has my locator call somewhere in the house.

not a collector of calls, even though I've seen some nice ones.

man i have a LARGE freezer bag FULL of different mouth calls...i have enough friction calls to fill a walmart bag! i know i have over 30 different strikers of varies woods (got a buddy that makes them so i just send him wood blanks to carve to try)

total would have to be over 80 or so (though i dont own a box call or any type of push pin call)

but i only carry like 2 friction calls in my vest and a lanyard with about 6 different mouth calls and a tube call.

I leave to many under tree's in all the comotion. Come to think of it I need to find my vest and see if any servived last spring. Or probably check my boy's room I know he has some cause mom was complaining the other day about that is all she heard all day was Sqwaulk, sqwaulk, sqwaulk.

usually keep it simple, slate call, wingbone and a box for most of my calling and a mouth call for short range purrs and clucks.

i like the old lohman 870, liberty miss lynch world champion and fool proof. also use a custom 870 clone made of cedar.

Have a growing collection - carry 6-7 into the woods with me opening morning and by the opening day afternoon I've shed most of them for the year. Too much weight to haul around.

I bring along 2 slates with 2 strikers, 2 mouth calls, 2 different kinds of owl hooters (for some reason), coyote howler, crow call, and a peacock/woodpecker/coyote call....I usually use 1 of the slates with one of the strikers and the rest are just for looks and added weight.... :D

Oh, and the ones that I bring with me are about all I have as far as turkey calls go. I figured it's too hard to use more than one at a time... :D

I am just starting out.... H.S. ring zone slate/carbon striker, bamboo handmade tubes, H.S. mouth calls, Woods Wise Mystic box call, that's about all I can think of, more to come in the future.

I will probably carry into the woods

Red Wasp ( Thanks for the suggestion spit)
Copperhead mouth
Copperhead two mouth

Mistress slate
Lights out anodized slate
Woodhaven Box
Holloran ceramic slate

Last year was an
Red wasp
Woodhaven cherry classic
Woodhaven real hen box
rtx slate
