I would guess either a Bob cat or possibly if the bird died from other causes and a scavenger bird cleaned up on him. I'm guessing Bob cat though because how much is left. I'd think a coyote or cougar would have done a lot more clean up.

Owls will fly into them at night and knock them off the limb.. Turkey's can't see good at night once on the ground the owl has his way... They go for the neck. Several years ago the KY turkey biologist did a survey and concluded more birds were killed by owls than all the bow hunters in the fall

Could have been a coyote kill as well. I've seen one fresh killed by yotes before.

Not coyotes. They would've have left all that meat behind. The blood and everything inside was already dried. Not a fresh kill.catman529":2etuzoin said:

Are these horned owls we're talking about? A little ole barred owl doesn't seem big enough to kill a grown turkey, even in the dark. But maybe I misjudge them.

Great Horned Owl..........Back years ago when I raised chickens (free range), These owls would come in at night and kill several chickens each night, six or seven was not uncommon, that were roosted in the trees near the barn. All of them would only have the head and neck eaten.
