What goes great with fried fish?

White bread and hot sauce and probably a session IPA. You want healthy, Mich Ultra.

Hush puppies and slaw or the Wild game version of surf and turf; bacon wrapped venison kabobs and fried fish.

Vinegar slaw

Shred a cabbage

Finely julienne an onion.

Mix cabbage and onion.

In a 1/2 pint jar, add 1/3C extra virgin olive oil, 1/3C cider vinegar, juice of 1 lemon, salt & pepper to taste, add whatever herbs/spices you'd like, a tablespoon of honey, and a tablespoon of Dijon mustard. SHAKE IT LIKE HELL.

Combine an hour before you're ready to eat.

Beer isn't healthy. People are healthy. Food and drink is either nutritious or not.

American mega-brews have all removed any of the "good for you" parts of beer and left you with water, alcohol, and whatever energy-dense compounds give it taste.

I never had onion in cole slaw but it is gonna be on my plate when I get back.

Fried fish requires cornbread, cole slaw, and a tomato quartered.

Crappie have a great taste, don't burn em. I used to skin them, pull the fins out, very quickly in beat-to-death egg, out into bread crumbs, into pan.

If I broil them I build a butter based sauce that I brush over each side.

Great, now I am hungry

Fish and grits has been a staple with us for going on almost two centuries now ;) Shrimp and Crawfish(Lobster) are frequently substituted :)

I blacken now since I gave up starch, but homemade sauerkraut and pico de gallo goes well with it. A turnip or cauliflower dish would also be considered.
