As far as predators go? I know coons eat eggs. What else eats turkey eggs? Opossums? How about Bobcats on poults? Just trying to learn what I should target if I am trying to help my turkeys.

Snakes and skunks will eat the eggs as well. IMO what has the biggest impact on turkey reproduction is weather. Nothing can wipe out an entire cycle like a perfectly timed freeze or cold spell right after they hatch. Heavy rains can also have an impact.

Predators are always a problem, but they do not do the devastating effects that mother nature can deliver.

I have always heard that racoons are hardest animal on the turkey population.

I don't know that to be true, but I have always heard it.

X2

raccoon, skunks, Opossums, fox, house cats and hawks are the most common predators that do most of the damage. coyotes and bobcats have an impact as well with yotes being more of an issue but those 2 dont do as much as people tend to believe.

also man has a HUGE impact when they brushhog during prime poult season or late nesting season.
