I was just wondering what kind of target everyone uses to sight in thier bows. Not talking about brand, but do you use a block type target with the rings and bulls eye, or sight in using a 3D target. I used a 3D target, and I am shooting tight groups out to 35 yards in the kill zone.

To sight in , I like using a block target with small aiming dots , so I can dial in my sight pins more accurately . For just practice and picking a spot , I like 3 D targets.

Any target that you can put an even cross on. I use blue painters tape. Sight in L-R with the verticle line, & then up & down with the horizontal. I start with 20 yrd pin, & if its a good sight , the rest usually will fall in to place.

I use a block type. I buy little 3/4" flourescent dot stickers at walmart to use as aiming points. They are only a couple of bucks for 50 or so and work great. You can find them with the school supplies.

I use a Block with a large + drawn on cardboard and tacked to the face. However, it doesn't matter what you tack it to as long as it will stop an arrow. I use that same cross for bows and firearms.

But over the years, when shooting and setting up multiple bows, I have used about everything. For a while, I used a smaller cross with a ring aournd it.

Exactly what adrenalinehunter wrote. I use black electrical tape on a cardbox cutout and check vertical and horiztonal alignment separately.

x2 for the blob style for sighting in.

Never thought of using golf tees...that would be ideal size since I like shooting at smaller things when setting sights. Often times on a 3D course, locating the 12 ring will be done via its location to someone else's arrow or just a dark spot here or a shot out hole there....and so being able to shoot and hit small spots like that is a big help. Same goes for hunting
..pick a spot where you want to hit instead of shooting at the deer as a whole.

Exactly what I was desribing except by drawing the cross with spray paint, it won't pull off when you pull the arrows for fall off when it is raining. Using another piece of cardboard, you make the lines as fine as you want. Far superior to a dot for initial sight adjustment. Also super for a rifle or mzl.

Get a "Blob", best target on the planet. Paint whatever sight in target you want, several targets if you wish and it will be a year or 2 before you have to repaint.
