First off let me say I am not a speed freak. I am just curious. What would you think would be the difference in speed of the same bow set at 50,60, and 70 pounds.
The Game said:f1 is correct. Keep in mind also as you go up in draw weight you have to go up in arrow weight as to load up the bow. Also you begin to close the window a bit as you go up in draw weight. In other words on most quality bows you can shoot 5 grains per lb at 50 to 60 lbs, but as you push the threshold up around 70 lb and above you will have problems unless you start to go up to around 6 grains per pound. Because of this phenomonon the heavier draw weights don't really give you much more speed but the difference in penetration can be incredible.
