OK I have been using a truball boss x 3 finger release for about 5yrs with no problem well I was at the pro shop Friday sighting in my new Hoyt. When I was at full draw getting ready to fire the release would not fire so at full draw I even tried to punch the thumb release 2x because I was getting nervous still nothing so when I went to let down it fired bouncing the arrow off the floor me and one of the staff tried to make it do it again never did. So would you all call truball or would you keep using it and see if it does it again? I want lie its got me nervous to use it.

At some time or another it seems that most releases will misbehave from time to time and, usually at the worst time.

I would tune the release again to be sure the settings have not changed, paying close attention to the functionality. Once I was satisfied that the release was 100% reliable...I'd move on and make sure I had spare for backup. As I recall the Boss-X has a very stiff and loud cocking lever and that could be some of the problem.

If the release even hinted at a problem, I would call Tru-Ball for a RMA# and return the release. MY experience with their customer service has been awesome!

ok went ahead and called tru ball and they said send it back. they said the problem was anything older than 2012 the firing pin inside the release is wore out they said the metal they used up to 2012 was a softer metal than they use now
