My advice to you is do what makes YOU happy, regardless of what WE think, or anyone else for that matter. Not being a horses rear by any means, just wanting to retain as many hunters in the state as possible, thus I want hunters like yourself to do what makes him or her happy and enjoy the hunt along the way.
If you would prefer to kill a larger antlered and/or older buck, the best way for you to do this is to pass up this one, or any one that's smaller/younger than what you prefer.
But if you're happy with this one . . . . . . .
Just saying, just asking, what matters more to you?
Well i already know that i will probably take him down if i get the chance. I have been trying to be a little more ethical with my hunting since i have been having good luck the last 5 years. Honestly i am more of a meat hunter that a trophy guy so, if he shows before i get a couple in the freezer then he is going down. But if i he shows up after the freezer is heavy he will probably get a pass. Thanks everyone for your input, just wanted to see what my fellow TNDEER community felt about things. You didn't disapoint!
Do what makes you happy. Horns are nice, but make thin soup. I would happily take this deer at close range with a bow or rifle, but would pass him up at 150 yards and a rifle. To me it's about getting close and getting past their senses.
