I killed one I Wayne county one morning after storms worse than last night. I knew something was wrong with because it was just flopping around in some pines and I'm gonna be completely honest, it was before legal shooting time and I had know clue what sex of was but I wasn't gonna let it flop around until the coyotes found it so I slipped pretty close and it popped its head up and I killed it. Walked over and it was a tom, with both its legs dislocated where they meet the body.

I was glad it was a tom but had it been a hen I would NOT have felt bad about it! Yes I know the whole nature takes its course deal and it did that morning,

Blown out of the tree I guess? There were 2 dead on the highway today that weren't there yesterday. Your situation seems reasonable.

Sometimes the law as it is written in the books conflicts with certain situations that we know to be wrong. It is up to each of us to make a decision.

In the situation that you described, I think the majority of the people on this forum would have done exactly what you did, paid the ticket if necessary and not lost one minute of sleep over it.

I would've done what you did and carried it out. I would also call scn :) and let him know what went down.

I guess the storms knocked it down and injured it. Strange story

Like I said It didn't bother me.

Yea the only thing I could figure out is it either got blown out ofa tree.
