Just wonder if/when some of us in the Crossville area are going to try to get together for a day of target/stump shooting, talking about bows, helping each other tune our bows and just general fun.
Now that it's getting warmer and once this rain has moved out I'd really like to meet up for a day of messing around with some fellow archers in my area. Anyway, just wanted to see if anything was planned or if we could maybe try to plan something. Talk to ya'll later.

I'll be coming up next weekend to watch the UFC fight with Spit and family.. Maybe we can work out some sort of little shoot before the fight on Saturday.

I'm in Smithville by the way.

We'll have to see what the weather is going to be like and if it looks good I'd be game for a little shoot. Of course I'll be working my butt off all week practicing so I won't look like a total noob, LOL. Since I've went back to instinctive I still need to shoot a bit more to get my eye back. I'm sure once I get the hang of it again I'll be ok though.

LOL I know what you mean. Somedays I can't miss, others are just terrible. I usually hold a decent group out to 40yds. nothing to write home about tho :D

If someone had a farm or a decent piece of land where we could shoot that'd be kind of in the middle of where we all are that would cut down the driving for all of us.
Also, We could get a some straw bails and put clay pigeons on em' and see how could break em' from the most distance. That'd be kind of a fun game to play. I'd also like to get together with some of ya'll and see if we could call in those coyotes that live around my house. I'd love to put an arrow or three thru em' so I can get rid of em' to protect my barn cats. Especially one little girl barn cat, she's a real sweetie, wish I could bring her in by my wife says two in the house is enough. I've not seen her in a few days, starting to worry a bit about her. Anyway, just mainly like to meet up and have some fun talking and shooting and just hangin' out since I really don't have any friends to hang out with. I'd like to try and find a few with similar interests like bow hunting and stuff.

We could do this at the Old Hickory range in Hermitage or Broken Arrow in Lebanon.

I was thinking a little more informal then an archery range. Also, from Crossville to Lebanon would be quite a drive for some of us.
Someplace in the Cookeville area would be good. If anyone lives around Cookeville and has a decent track of land where we could shoot that'd be perfect. Heck, would could even plan a BBQ or something. Maybe make it an Yearly kind of deal. This would be the 1st Annual TN Deer Archery Get-Together, LOL. Who knows, if we did this in few years we could even turn it into a Fund Raising Charity even or something. I think St. Judes would be a worthy cause but Hey, I'm getting way a head of my self here, LOL.

Yeah, but an archery range has a pavilion, running water, electricity, etc.

It also has a lot of targets ;)

Just a thought though :)

It also costs money to shoot,LOL. I was just kind of thinking of an informal "meet n' greet" where we could get together and hang out and talk a bit and shoot a bit, maybe fire up the grill and cook something for lunch. I'd do it here at the house only it's a mess and there's not a lot of room to shoot. I figure someone would have a larger area where we could do this so we could kind of spread out and not be so cramped.

It doesn't cost anything to shoot at Old Hickory or Broken Arrow if there isn't a shoot going on.

Old Hickory has bales available 24/7/365 for free public use.

Broken Arrow has bales up 24/7/365, but you need a member to shoot. I'm a member...

I did not know that. Still, Crossville to the Nashville area is quite a drive. I think something in the middle would be better for folks, especially with gas prices going back up.
