I got my Z7 back in February/March of 2010 and have absolutely shot this thing to death. The string looks good except the serving is starting to seperate where it hits the String Supressor. It is also seperating a little where it rides on the Reverse Assist roller guards. Suprisingly, the serving has held together where it rides on the cam. Can I get another year of a lot of shooting on this string and buss cable.

It sounds like it might be a good time to get another one and keep your shot in one for a spare. It is sort of comforting to know that you have a shot in string to put back on if you do something dumb (been there, done it) like touching a broadhead to your string as you try to nock one in the dark, etc. Rather than having to try to find one or order one you can get back in the game fairly quickly if you have one sitting in your archery box. I even leave the peep tied in with my spare.

It probably would be a good idea to re-serve it before putting it up.

Yep, definately going to keep the old one. I've had some string issues in the past.

I replaced my factory string after the first year as it was shot to death. I have had my proline on for two years now and it's starting to show a little wear. I am going to replace it before the next deer season though.

I bet I put 2000 shot's through mine with the factory string and cables. Just keep it waxed and serve an area around the string where the supresor hits.

It has become a fad to change strings and I don't know why. Sure it's neat to have vibrant colors on your rig, but what's the point. I'm not looking to attract any attention to myself in the woods. I blame most of these rinky dink string companies, and all the marketing.

Serving separation is common with some cam designs . I look for string wear , cut strands , etc. or a string that has creeped too much to twist it back into bow specs.
I have had the worst luck with the older Mathews Zebra strings , and the best luck with Winner's Choice and Vapor Trail strings made of 452X.
