First, I know nothing about turkeys and have never hunted them.
Everyday like clockwork we see a flock of from 12-18 females come prancing through the area behind our house. Sometimes we see them twice a day. But they are all females. Last year I did see one flock of seven males visit and scratch around but never again.
Any guesses as to why we are only seeing the females?

They generally stay separate during the winter and the toms are probably off visiting some other field or patch of woods. Don't worry they will show up in March.

I passed a field the other day that had 6 gobblers in and on the other side of the road, prolly 700 yrds away, there was prolly 30 hens. Like posted above, they will try and stay away from each other this time of yr. That doesnt mean tho that they wont be in the same field, just be in seperate groups most of the time.

I'm not far from you. If you want to try it sometime, I would be glad to guide. But be forewarned, I take no responsibility for any addiction that might result :) !
