where would you hunt first?

if you had a huntin club lease and some good public land too, huntin club has more turkey but public land gets a lot of pressure . would you hunt the public land first and save your birds for later or go strait to the club first ?

i would go where my best chances are. the SAVE my birds sometimes can backfire on you. Always go with the best odds and work out the SAVING part later.

that and opening weekend on public could get hairy

I would hit private opening weekend to avoid the idiot factor, then swoop in on the public birds after the bafoons have quit. That is my plan usually each year.

captain hook's right on.....But, with the forecast being what it is on Saturday, I will be on public land first. I'm hoping the idiots are afraid of melting in the rain or they're allergic to lightning.

the real idiots whould be the ones out in the lightning. i personally dont hunt public land on the weekends not enough elbow room for me.

Either one. If you know where some birds are on public land, get after em. If not your best bet might be on private considering the weather. It will be fine hunting sunday.
