If you had to settle for one of the big market brand pot calls to get your through the season, which brand would you buy?

Hs or knight and hale.

I like the hs strut ring zone slate. Imo it sounds almost as good as any 70$ custom, and it was 15-20$

I still have a KH slate-tek I use from time to time. Have had it for 10 years and it actually sounds ok. My kids like playing with it as well lol

Knight & Hale. I hunted several times with a K & H staffer last year and was really impressed with the Scarlet Fever.

I killed many birds with the original one (green plastic bottom with tiny holes in it, no longer mass produced, can be found on eBay at times). I managed to sit on it and cracked the surface many moons ago, thus sending it to the retirement bin in my hunting closet. No doubt about it, the ORIGINAL Sla-tek was a darn good mass produced call IN IT'S DAY, however, it is no longer readily available and I would not trust anything made in China these days when looking for a quality product. My .02

Yup that's the same one I had. I bought it the first year they even came out and no matter how much I try to retire it, still ends up in my vest on a few hunts each year

I don't consider Cody with the others but I guess it is. Cody makes a decent product though and generally stay away from the stupid stuff and focus on calls that work.

I've always used K&H for years.
I have since graduated to nicer calls but if I needed a call in a pinch I could always use a K&H and be ok.
