This is going to be my first season turkey hunting and i have no camo yet. Do yall have any suggestions? I want something that i wont get to hot in during the spring, but something that i can put of a layer or two in the winter/fall and be comfortable too. Im only 18 so i dont have a whole lot of money to spend.
Thanks

I've been hunting since our first ever turkey season opened here in Marshall County, the best advice I could give you is to buy a leafy suit this way no matter the weather conditions you can layer underneath to fit the weather,as far as pattern I've been a Mossy Oak man for years good luck!

Since you're like me and don't have a lot of money to spend, I've got good news for you. Your probably like me and have a couple of new camo pieces and several old camo pieces. My advice is dont wear the same camo pattern on top and on the bottom. It helps to break up the pattern, looks more realistic. I try to wear some with green in it on top( realtree hardwoods hd, mossyoak-spring foliage) and a more brown and grey pattern on the bottom ( realtree, mossyoak fall foliage, or any of the older camo patterns). The biggest thing is set up in the shadows and try to find something to break up your outline ( tree wider than your shoulders, cedars or brush that you can clip and stick in the ground around you, etc.)

get a good leafy suit and thank me later. On hot days you can just wear shorts and a tshirt under it and cool days you can add a coat or whatever is needed.

the bug tamer is good but man they dont breath real well IMO. If you are going to buy one buy a decent one that will last. the cheap ones will rip and come apart pretty quickly and you will have to buy another one. Rememeber during turkey season you may be on the move a bunch so limbs, briars and everything else will be in your way.

camo type is to each his own. Personally i like anything with yellow and orange/light green in it. Most of the dark is find early but once it greens up you actually stick out with the dark patterns.

Leafy suite all the way..get a ThermaCell too. Will help when you wear those short sleeves and shorts on those warm days

I have a leafy suit in Mossy Oak & MothWing. I like both, but for early season when everything isnt as green, I use the mossy oak. Then in the later season, I use the mothwing.

I dress for the weather temps, underneath.
