Whiffed

Finally found some hot birds this morning. I snuck in close and they were gobbling at everything on the roost, they had some hens with them and we're answering my calls after they flew down and were getting closer. Two big white heads popped over the ridge at 25yards and one was in full strut, clicked the safety off and pulled the trigger but nothing happened except for me flinching lol. I pushed the safety on up but by now they knew something wasn't right and we're turning to go back down the hill and I rushed the shot. Really sux but at least I got to play the game on a beatuiful morning full of gobbling birds plus I still have over a month to even the score.

I'm just glad I didn't wound him! I seen them a lil while later and both gobblers were back after the hens.

Yea the hours I work suck for most stuff but they aren't bad for turkey season. I can hunt till 9am every morning if I want to. I work 10:30am till 6:30 or 7pm.
