Used to get Mets n beans at a local place. Think it's more of a northern thing and I enjoyed it a lot . Tried to re create and turned out great. Been a go to for us for a while.

Brown's later known as Old College Inn had great Met and Beans. It was the best bargain a UT student could get on the Cumberland Ave. strip.

Yours looks great. It will be on our turkey camp menu this spring.

never had it with tomatoes. usually use smoked beef sausage cause its a little easier to find than metwurst here

Really! Wow, I never had it without. Just add a can of diced. Can't get Met, use the smoked and just add a bunch of garlic!

Hmm, these are Navy beans, yes?

If so, you have violated Tennessee law. You have to cook Navy beans with hamhocks. Touch of garlilc, salt, pepper.

Growing up my Dad would use regular bread and butter. Cornbread is good also. Strong yellow onions sliced 1/2 wide.

Soak overnight.
