Who got it worse, Me or the Turkey?

If you saw my post on Friday, my turkey season is over. I broke my leg jumping up to run to him. I had surgery on Friday night with two screws and a plate added and had to stay over night in the hospital. I will have to be on crutches for at least 6 weeks.

So the debate is who got it worse, me or the turkey? Pic of foot below (Don't scroll any farther if you don't wanna see)

Here's my foot yesterday - I have 6 staples on the one side and another incision on the other. I couldn't turn my foot to get the pic of the other side.



Here is a pic of the turkey. He made a very good supper on Sunday night and left over lunch yesterday. I'm in pretty bad shape, but I wouldn't trade spots with him. :)



Keep posting stories and videos as detailed as you can. I will have to live the rest of my turkey season through you guys. Be careful out there as you never know when something freaky can happen.
 
No doubt about who won. You're down but not out and he is. Seeing how purple your foot is reminds me of mine looking like that in high school when I tore the ligaments and chipped a bone on the top of my foot. Even the bottom of my foot turned purple.
 
Thanks for the prayers! I'll make it. It's just killing me that I can't turkey hunt or fish right now. It throbs if I don't keep it elevated. I'm gonna listen to the doc's orders on what to do so I'll most likely have to live the remainder of my turkey season through you guys.
 
Yup, you won... the bird is dead :)

Good luck with the recovery... most expensive bird you'll ever kill, so enjoy that meal!
 
You hang in there Larry you be on your feet in no time. Glad to hear the surgery went well.
 
Man I would be depressed if that happened and cut my season short. Hope you heal well...at least you didn't break it hopping off the boat or something not involving killing a turkey. Glad you got a bird down to show for it...prayers sent for quick recovery
