Got 6 toms in the vicinity and heard at least 2 or 3 distant birds gobbling. 1 bird I got his name address and phone number cause I saw him fly up. But he has hens. So I hope I pick the right spot to sit in the morning. If I don't kill him right away I'll have to hope to catch up with one of the other birds later. There's a lot of hens and a private field that half of the birds came off. Good luck y'all!

We'll be going in blind also. Being 1:15 hrs away doesn't help. On the bright side, they usually roost along the same tree line, so we are going to try to get in early to our setup spot. Of course, as soon as we do, they will be 200 yards away.

Oh well, good luck everyone, and may you be greeted with dueling gobblers!

Yep! On a huge hill! I hope my boy can make it happen this morning! Hens are all over the place.

I found a different bird yesterday afternoon and know the general area hes in. Sad thing is my 11yo wouldn't wake up to come. I'm posted up listening, but he hasn't made a peep yet. Hard to hear tho, as I'm only 250yds from interstate

Somebody was under my bird this morning, came in from the only other public access I assume. Moved to the next group and had 5 toms and a bunch of hens pitch into the field. Guy shoots his bird that I was originally gonna set up on. So I snuck to the edge of this field and 3 strutter were working their way toward me. Missed twice, going to let the woods calm down a bit and keep hunting. Birds already gobbling again.

Going in blind like always
Same here, can't remember the last time I actually roosted a bird. Well over 5 years, maybe 10. Go in, get on high ground, listen, gauge him, approach him, devise a plan, and try to call him to the gun in the woods.

Friday evening watched with binoculars a gobbler, a jake and four hens in a neighbors field work their way into a patch of woods to roost.
Went back Saturday morning and hunted hoping to call in a bird. I did but not the one I expected.
The gobbler I killed wasn't the one I roosted but one that snuck in silently from behind. At least I know there's still one more left down there.
