Getting away from my Montecs this year. Been reading reviews for muzzy, rage and slick trick. muzzy and rage had their share of bad reviews (granted alot of the disgruntled hunters could have been blaming the broad heads when they should have been blaming themselves). Started reading up on slick trick and read alot of good stuff. Guess I just wanted to ask some guys on here who shoot them to sell me on em.

I tried them when I had my compound and while Muzzy's grouped the same as my field points, the slick tricks always shot off. They was the same when I tried them on a crossbow.

I tried the Slick Trick 125 Standards and Mags last year with very mixed results. Out to 40 yards, they grouped well but not with my field points. Past 40 yards, the groups opened up. The Mags were significantly worse that the Standards. I switched to the Montec 125's and was very pleased. They shot great groups that matched the POI of my field tips out to 75 yards. I also had great performance out of them on a big bodied deer that I shot in Indiana. Just curious why are you looking to get away from the Montecs in the first place?

I have shot slick tricks some and have never had a problem with them grouping like my field tips. I prefer my G5 Strikers only because they are more durable. I have just started using some of Slick Tricks Grizz Tricks and they seem to be more durable than regular Slick Tricks and still shoot as good.

I have been and will continue to shoot muzzy 3 blade 100 gr. Its a proven winner with my setup so changing isnt an option for me. When you find that right setup, keep it and dont experiment.
