Whose looking for survivors from last year?

One of my favorite things about running cameras is hoping to see deer from one year to the next. I've only checked one camera so far with nothing remarkable to show. But with fall setting in I'm looking forward to range shift. This is the one I'm most hoping to see again.

He showed up in October last year. I think he had some type of hormone imbalance. When they started putting on weight and body size in November, he never quit. By the time he shed antlers in January, he looked downright ridiculous. I'm hoping he didn't die from natural causes.

What deer is tops on your wish list for a return appearance?

Man that is bizarre! I'm hunting new ground this year and hoping to see some bucks show up at some point. Right now it's all does and fawns. Maybe that pig of a deer will show back up for you this year.

You're mistaken that January picture is actually a bull. Lol, awesome buck good luck. By the way I'm hunting a buck I've watched for 3 years. He's always an 8 and he's over 5, so I know what you mean by hoping to see him from one year to the next. Also, I know mine is alive, but he's a ways away from where I hunt.

I'm not looking because we didn't have any survivors last year :rotf: . EHD killed 90% of our 2.5's and older bucks. We have nothing desirable this year. Just hoping something moves in now that they have lost their velvet. Hoping for a range-shifter.

Gracious! It's amazing how a big bodied deer will fool you on their antler size. This deer is a perfect example. Look at the first pic versus the second pic...notice how much bigger his rack looks in the first one. Now look at the third one...haha

I'm pretty sure he just got hungry and ate his antlers in January! :rotf:

Last year I took the one buck we had been hunting for the past several years, plus we and the neighbors were pretty hard on the rest of the herd... so this year is a rebuilding year for us.

I do have one very nice 3.5yo that we passed several times last year that should be on the hit list this year... just hoping he added 20 inches since last fall.

Had multiple encounters with this buck last year as a (my guess) 3.5 7pt , no passes this yr!

Good gosh. That looks like limousine steer being fed out to slaughter. I think you are dealing with a 6.5 year old fat boy with metabolic disorder.
